Temporary Replacement Bucket Seats?

I've been thinking about putting some other set of front buckets in my '64 Valiant while I restore the originals. They are too worn to be comfortable.

One thought is to get a pair of vinyl bucket seats from a custom van place, take-outs from new vans. I know I'd have to make some kind of mountings from them, but they'd be inexpensive and brand new. I want to drive the car a bunch this spring/summer, and the upholstery has to wait till at least next year.

Anybody have any ideas/experiences along these lines?

thanks!
