Jeff I just took a look at that auction and it appears to me that heater 
control valve has been modified. Actually it looks like the same thing I 
did to mine. After spending a hundred something bucks for a new core I 
didn't feel like laying out the $125 plus $65 core charge that JC Auto 
wanted for a rebuilt valve. (my valve was so bad I don't think it could 
even be rebuilt) The previous owner had already run a new cable from the 
heat control lever to an inline valve under the hood but since the 
original valve was still leaking he had the heater disconnected. I 
gutted the original valve and soldered over the hole in the top. (it 
appears to me that this is what's been done to the one on the auction) 
The only other thing was that the heat control lever worked backwards 
but I found out that Bouchillon Performance sells an inline valve that 
works in the opposite direction (pull to close and push to open) for 26 
bucks. They actually told me that had these backward valves made for 
just this purpose. Now the control lever works as it should but the 
actual working control valve is now under the hood.
