Tell him if he wins the car, he can come by with his cash and look over the title. If the title is clear and matches the VIN he takes the car. Otherwise, he can back out. He must be clear that the car itself is sold as is...no backing out if he just does not "like" the car. You can even put this sort of limited agreement in writing and fax or overnight it for his signature,
if you still have time in your auction.If he is a good guy, you have to give him credit for being sure he gets a clean title. Nevertheless, giving him a limited way out should protect his interests and keep him in the game, if he really is a serious buyer.
