Cam, I'm not familiar with the finish on the consoles for our cars, but I had a '68 GTX with a center console. It had a dull silver finish around the outer edges, similar to what you describe. I've owned several Corvettes over the years, and the color of the '68 console appeared to be the same as the bezels around the mid sixties dash gauges,so I used it on the GTX. I thought it looked great. If you're interested in trying it, the color is Dull Aluminum or 63-64 Frost / Dash Cluster. It was distributed by Long Island Corvette Supply. I bought the paint several years ago, so I'm not sure they're still in business, but possibly other Vette suppliers might have a similar product, if Mopar suppliers no longer carry it.
