Re: Racer brown cam and exhausting situation

Joey...Several comments here if I may be so
bold.(Remember...all of this applies to MY 1963 Fury
'vert for damn sure and other things POSSIBLY !)

The maxies will fit in my car on a 1976 440 based
block assembly. I used the TTI "Maxie" exhaust system
on the Maxie manifolds. There is "Near" conflict with
the 1976 Chrysler Cordoba master cylinder used with
the front disk swap kit, but there are Heat shield
repro's available from several different folks (29 to
49 bucks) that mount on the same studs as the M/C and
will solve the heat conflict issue at the M/C. I have
the shield BUT HAVE NOT MOUNTED IT YET due to laziness
and the desire Not to have to tear up the brake system
again to do so...( I HATE bleeding the total system!).
Interestingly enough I have had NO overheating/brake
fade issues...YET ! The Max wedge exhaust system (
original and repros) IS 3" until the muffler
connection and originally had 3" in/ 2 something
(2.5?) out. ,.. my point is that all of the "under the
feet" original system was 3"...and there may be some
overheating of the feet area, but a simple
installation of under rug heat shield will provide way
more "cooling" than the old factory system did with
regular exhaust. I do not have any more heat issues
than should be expected with a HUGE motor/ non AC ,
poorly insulated (originally), convertible...and ,
last, but not least by any means !...the rumble and
the sound of the engine is a symphony...at idle or at
"Oh Hell !"...there is nothing to compare with the
song...except another "Big Dog"...if he's around...The
cam that you have used ( I have the identical one in
my Old reliable Max wedge clone build) is AWE
inspiring and my car has done parades and such
repeatedly WITHOUT overheating or engine
complaint...and the major question from the crowds is
"Is that a Hemi ?"...
I always answer back..."Nope...It's his DADDY !!!"

I love to watch their face as they chew on that.
