Re: More tranmission fun

hey Jeff, same type of thing happened to me when I was trying to break-in the cam on my Poly motor. I knew my tranny was low on fluid, but was lower then I thought, and clouds of smoke started billowing out of the trans dip stick tube, while I was runnining the engine at 2200 RPM. guys in this group suggested I drain out all the bad fluid and and refill it and put a new filter and gasket. well, I 've been running it ever since! so, there might be some hope if you didn't burn it up to bad. don't forget to drain the torque converter
too.

Sorry about the off topic car, I got my grenaded driveshaft rebuilt and drove the car one day to work and this morning the tranny stopped shifting and huge plumes of grey smoke started billowing behind me. There is also much burned tranny fluid smell. I'm guessing I either lost a tranny LINE or the tranny itself has died. Since it's probably the latter, does anyone know of a spare 727 tranny in the Los Angeles area that I could drop in temporarily, or a
rebuild shop that won't charge me an arm and a leg?
