Jeff,what did the tranny oil look and smell like when you dropped the pan??? kind of brown and burnt smelling? I'm going to bet that the clutches packs are toast.If this is the case you will need topull it. Nothing to be scared of when going through an automatic,just lots of parts that don't seem to make sense at first.I have worked in a transmission shop for the past several months but am by no means an expert,will be glad to help if I can.
