Re: Water leaks into trunk and interior

Besides the trunk & your door seals, also check your firewall & wiper
pivot seals. Bad wiper pivot seals have killed the front floor pans in
many an A-Body (including mine!)

I'm just starting to restore a 64 Sport Fury, which seems to be in
pretty good shape overall. It sat in my driveway for a few days in the
rain before I could get it into my garage and when I got it inside,
found standing water in the trunk, soaked carpet on the drivers side
floor and some dampness on the passenger side door. I've opened the car
up and have fans on it now.

I've ordered a new seal for the trunk but have since been advised that
there are two types of trunk seal for the car, a flat one and a D-seal.
There appears to be a flat seal, more like regular weatherstripping on
it now, would appreciate any general info and advice on the trunk seal.
Can water get into the trunk any other way??

What are the most likely culprits for water getting into the interior of
the car??
