Tis true for a good 383 crank that is a decent price but for the 426 from a 400 we take a 383 crank (cause they are steel) and send it to Canadian Chrome and Crank. They weld it , stress relieve it and grind it for a 3.53 stroke so there is no point in starting with a good one since we are going to modify it anyway however, if push came to shove I guess I would.
