I have an e-mail from Don D. on this subject from when I was building my Old reliable 440 "Max wedge" clone...per Don......"If they was good enough for Don Garlits to win with they're good enough for me !~" He says Don Garlits TOLD HIM that they used 8.75's from the junk yard in all of his dragsters up until the 1500 H.P. mark....... My Fury 'vert is not as heavy as your wagon, but it is a boy dog.....and the 8.75 has never flinched.
