As with any changes to anything we follow the law of deminishing returns and it goes in a curve up to a point and then down. so it is with exhuast, carbs etc. when you fool with one you have to change the other all engines seem to function better with some backpressure . what that best point is you have to find. your eng is nothing but a big pump air and gas in and exhaust out there has to be a balance. if you put X amount of volume in you have to get it out. I have 2 1/2 exhuast on my street wedge and it runs and sounds great with flowmasters on it.
