Jim, Yep, there are a million ways to do it. I have done that a couple of times, but just tacked the pads, then pulled them away from the springs. I don't know if the heat would hurt the springs, but a dawg can't be to careful. How the heck is your project coming. The last pictures you sent looked great. I am trying to learn how to do good fender flares. Body work sucks. I setup my rear without welding the perches, then I got everything aligned the way I wanted it, removed the tires and lower shock bolts, and welded those dogs to the big fatty strange tubes right on the car. Seemed like a no-fuss way to go about it, as long as you can reach in with the gun ... and not burn anything up in the process ...
