Re: another 426 63 Polara 500!

They're definately not the same car. I just heard from the Ebay
seller. Actually, he's concerned that the Mecum auction is hurting
his Ebay auction. Another cooincidence is that both cars were in
Ontario at the same time. Amazing.

Not sure if my earlier response got thru ok as I got one of those 'wasn't

But what I said in response to Sherwood's email that also said they were the
same car was....

I had a look at the 2 before I sent that link and thought they looked
different. But I only have the 2 pics of the Mecum car, or am I missing
something?

I can still see some differences that suggest to me they're not the same
car:
Ebay car has - Gloss air cleaner lids, heater hoses in correct pos'n,
over-riders front & rear, says its engine's origin is not know so must be
considered non-original, 40,017 miles.

And in just a few weeks the Mecum car has had a 'concourse California
restoration'. It has a fresh-looking (but incorrect?) radiator and
incorrectly positioned heater hoses (not very concourse!). No over-riders,
satin black air cleaner lids and chrome valve covers (also not 'correct').
It says "Correct & documented by Galen Govier" so I presume that means the
engine is the original. 36,000 miles.

Sure, some of this could have been changed over, but to me, it looks like
the differences would have made the car less 'correct' & desirable.

Be interesting to see what it fetches as the Ebay car didnt sell at $50k.

'Scuse my being pedantic on this but as I'm in-between jobs at the moment I
had time to look at the info I have on both cars and found the above
differences!
