RE: 1964 Chrysler tilt? T or F

My Dodge is strictly tilt and seems similar to GM cars I remember from years
ago.... I really didn't realize the car had the tilt until I "discovered"
after I bought the car.

Hi Gary,
I'm not sure about "Chrysler", but my 1964 Dodge Custom 880 HTSW, has a tilt
wheel along with two A/C's, etc. It has the "normal" Custom 880 steering
wheel as opposed to the optional "50th Anniversary Wheel".
My '64 Newport Wagon on the other hand starts with a three-on-the-floor
standard transmission and goes no where from there.

Did Chryslers have a tilt steering column option in 1964? A fellow with
a 1964 wrote me this:

"This 1964 Chrysler also has the round steering wheel with a tilt
column. I am told that the tilt column option in 1964 was rare because
Chrysler did not make a tilt column in 1964 and these units are actually
GM columns."

Thoughts?

Thanks,
Gary H.
