The good news is, most of the young kids don't have a clue if it is anything past slamming out the ignition and using a screw driver for a key. I have always put a secret switch on mine that grounds out the coil. I split the wiring harness and sneak it back inside the firewall so it is impossible to see. Makes it almost impossible to steal by someone that is not old school. It does however make it impossible to start if you forget to turn it on. I have a friend that went one step further. He used a marine switch made to turn off the power. The only issue with that is it is hard to hide. Earl OK, so the '65 Coronet 500 finally has it's hood back on, with the Hemi-style fiberglass scoop. What's a good way to lock hood? I bought a remote hood release kit one time, but it looked pretty cheap-o when arrived. Have seen post-type/latch pin arrangements. And, how about car alarms in general, it's time to get some reasonable security as I drive the beast increasingly often. PS, while driving this morning on way to get hood installed, an old guy without all his teeth in a 50's rust-bucket pickup truck pulled up, and I "poop" you not, hollered "That thing got a Hemi?".
