Have you thought about some of the aluminum heads that are available?
Maybe something in the range of 88cc? Aluminum heads and the right cam
(to bleed off compression) might just be the ticket.

Yes, you can get thicker gaskets. there's a company(Cometic, i think)
that sells a composite gasket that can be tailored to your needs. you
could also have the domes of the pistons milled.
