when i bought my 64 valiant, the owner just had the engine rebuilt. but the installer left off the throttle pressure regulating linkage. so the car had basically a two speed transmission. the second gear band was totally glazed. but i did drive the car quite awhile got ready to pull and rebuild the transmission. tomorrow is saturday and i will remove the broken linkage and take it to the welding shop <fingers crossed> have them weld it back together and reinstall.
now shifting manually i have not noticed any slippage etc. but i am not "on it" either. i just had to limp it to the weekend....
