Did it say their diameters were machined down on a lathe?
Assuming the Imperial bars are longer than most, that means they were softer than a shorter bar of the same diameter. Since the Imperial was among the heaviest models, the bars would also have been of a beefier diameter than the shorter counterparts.
What I'm getting at is that if you were to put a set of factory Imperial bars on a lathe and take some meat off of them, you'd get even better weight transfer on your AWB car.

well since the awbs were made in 1965 i am guessing they used 65 bars.???? I dunno, they dont say much about where the bars came from for the awbs, they just say they were 5o inch imperial bars neal zimmerman, eugene oregon
