Nothing at all wrong with that. I think it depends on what you're building the car for. If you're going in a straight line pretty fast, the older style setup is great. If you're autocrossing or something for handling, the advantage of the "bigger" wheel is obviously much better tread to be had. I'm having all kinds of problems trying to find any type of performance tire wider than a 215 for my 14" SBP rims. I'd love to have some SBP 15" or even 16" because it would unlock all kinds of tire choices. But you're right, its a fine balance and can make the car look stoooooopid.
