I use steel wool on chrome all the time, but only #0000, or whatever the
finest grade is. It will clean it up a good bit, take paint off of chrome,
and you can even use it on glass with minimal scratching if you have to.

on my interior headliner trim and interior front/rear windows trim the
chrome is broken out like acne with little rust speckles coming out in
places
of course it needs rechromed but "for now" how can i scrub that off
without scratcing up the chrome finish?
