I was trying to decide what color to paint my Weiand alum dual quad manifold. I had thought I'd use the engine red but then I thought black would be a better contrast with the chrome Edelbrock's. Then I thought it would kinda minimize the nice manifold so I bought some 500deg Engine clear coat and painted it. The manifold looks nice, just a little more shimmer, and it should help prevent the tarnishing. I'm sure they'd all be OK though. I have used wrinkle paint before and I love the look but it is tough to clean! I pit it all over my Jeep engine components. When mud gets in the wrinkles, it stays.
