Do not know of any source for production by engine, but for production by
body style :

Polara 500 2-door hardtop : 6,834
Polara 500 4-door hardtop : 3,345
Polara 500 2-door convertible : 2,089

The Polara 500 4-door hardtop was introduced in December, 1961, two months
after the 1962 models were first introduced.

Sorry, but there is no way to determine "numbers matching" on a pre-1968
Mopar vehicle.   During the 1968 model year Chrysler began stamping the
partial VIN on the body, engine and transmission.  So the best you can do is
determine whether the engine and transmission were built before the build
date of your car.

You can get a copy of the build record from DaimlerChrysler Historical for
$45.  That will show the oprions on your vehicle and the dealer the car was
shipped to.

And welcome to the club!  As you can now know, you own a unique,
low-production vehicle

Does anyone know of a book or literature that will give me info such as
production numbers of a 62 Polara 500 4 dr. hardtop (no post) with HP 383
(single 4 bbl.). I would also like to check for matching numbers as I
believe the car is all original. I just joined this club so bear with me and
thanks for any help.
