restoring some old CalCustoms -ideas guys?

 found a cool old pair of big block  valve covers in the trunk of a car.
 I think they might be cal-customs, very heavy aluminum castings with 
 ribs
     BUT........
   two of the fins have been slightly eroded away in one spot-
  ( u got me??). I thought maybe battery acid or a rag with something
  caustic in it draped over the valve cover. Its not too bad though ,
  the  main spine of the two ribs in this spot is still there, they just
  need filled out, filed in and painted, of course they
    will never be raw aluminum again but if i can repair this bad
    spotthey should look cool painted up.
   Anyhoo- my question is- what could i use to build these fins up and
   restore them , JB WELD??  Its gotta be tough and  take a  couple
   hundred degrees. Any ideas guys, i hate to throw them away, other
   than this spot they are  really cool
