I was making it home last friday in my 65 coronet and some goober cut me off
on the highway. i hit the brakes and all of a sudden the entire back end
started to shudder and shake and i noticed that the car wasn't really
slowing down at all. i let off the gass and slowely cruised the rest of the
trip in the middle lane and slowwed way down on the off ramp where under 30
or so the brakes seemed to grab some(not great but some and real
smooshy-like) i got home and found that the master cylander was oozing out
of the top around the gasket, and no other leaks. Thank the lord i replaced
the single master cylindar a few yeas ago. i got another master cylander and
installed it this weekend and adjusted the brakes(was pulling hard to the
pass side on hard brakeing) and all seems to be good. i got to work
today(first long trip o the new system) and sure enough the master cylander
is leaking from the same place. Could there be another cause for this or am
i just getting crappy MCs from the local autoshop? these are rebuilt units
as i would have to wait another week for a new one and i really needed a
car. should i look somewhere else on the monster for another problem?
someone i know suggested i moght look at he wheel cylinders as one might be
hung uop and not applying and forcing the excess fluid out the top.
