'65 was the last year of the small gear, which clipped onto the cable. All 66-up cables have two threaded ends, one big, one small. The big end goes to the gear housing on the transmission, and the small end to the speedometer.
I have a later transmission in my '65 and I used a '66 cable, which is a little long but works fine, and was cheap. I can all but gaurantee you that my 65 and your 63 have the same size threads on the back of the speedometer.
Where things start changing is that at some point, at least some car companies started using a reatining clip at the speedometer end (no threads). If the '70 cable screws on, it should fit your speedometer. If its push-on, it obviously won't.
The cable I used was made by ATP, is part number Y803, and is long enough to put the speedometer by the radiator.

hmmm, i've had luck in this area with 727 automatics, usually the main difference is either the gear size, or the way the cable is clamped to the tranny, which can be carefully altered. Don't know if this applies to manuals or not. You'd think so, though.
