I had the same felling about not wanting to cut the floor pans. So I welded mine connectors directly to the floor pans. I would imagine (without getting into the merits of floor pan penetrating the floor pans or not) mine easily tolerate more than 500 rwhp.

I just don't have a venue to post pictures of frame connectors on my '65 Coronet

Paul Hamaday,

I looked at the details of your connectors on the website, at:

http://www.1962to1965mopar.ornocar.org/ml-hamadayframec.html

It looks like you reworked the original design to avoid cutting and welding the floorpan. The "update" that shows the connectors with the small slot to fit the connectors that is to be welded after installation is all about that, right??? Any pictures of the install on the "volunteer"'s car that you mentioned. I've seen at least one other "how to" feature on connectors that penetrate the pan, and honestly just do not like the idea. I'm no kind of engineer, but something in me just shies away from the idea. Maybe because I'm no kind of welder, either!

Anyway, I would be much more interested if you coule show installation
of the connectors that do not penetrate the floorpan.

Thanks!
