It looks like you reworked the original design to avoid cutting and welding the floorpan. The "update" that shows the connectors with the small slot to fit the connectors that is to be welded after installation is all about that, right??? Any pictures of the install on the "volunteer"'s car that you mentioned. I've seen at least one other "how to" feature on connectors that penetrate the pan, and honestly just do not like the idea. I'm no kind of engineer, but something in me just shies away from the idea. Maybe because I'm no kind of welder, either!
Anyway, I would be much more interested if you coule show installation of the connectors that do not penetrate the floorpan.
