Neal,we have 220v here just check at compressor so it goes the right 
direction after You put them in place,if it doesnt just change the two

My last stage for my sandblast/shop-air system is wiring the cord up for
my 220 v compressor.
  My question is, my cord is a heavy 3 cable type the guys at the
  electrical supply house said would be the right size for the specs of
  my compressor. Now green is for ground, that leaves a black and a
  white.
  In my compressor is a clearly marked spot for ground and two other
  spots , i am assuming for the  black and white wires.They look
  identical and are marked with an identical symbol .
 THE QUESTION IS:  does it matter to which the black or white wire go?
