Re: trans cooler question

hmm, sounds kinda like a radiator for an AC system?
I thought about using the one from my old AC as a trans cooler,
but had trouble finding the fittings, so I abandoned the Idea.

Ok when I was at the junkjyard today I found a brand new trans cooler
(?) in the trunk of a 62 Dodge 880 custom, no sign of it ever being
hooked up , and the guy let me have it for ten bucks.
What i am wondering about is that it has huge tubes about 1/2 inch
I.D. And its really heavy duty looking too, really thick, like an
inch and a quarter thick vanes with a heavy aluminum frame encasing
the whole thing. Doesnt really look like any tranny cooler I have
ever seen before, but it looked useful and sturdy so i grabbed it .
Do u guys think this is/was a tranny cooler or made for something
else and shouldnt be used. Or would it matter even if it wasnt a
tranny cooler? I guess the part I am wondering about is the huge
tubes, would that cause a problem, them being so huge? The thing must
hold 3 pints.
