The con-rods had the least wear he ever saw on a piston pin. However they are about 720grams, very heavy. If I wanted to recondition and upgrade the hardware it'd cost me only about $40-$60 less than new rods. Eagle has #SIR6123CB for $292-set which are 605grams, 50% stronger and have the new hardware. There is also Eagle #SIR6123CP for $278-set which are basically the same weight, etc., etc..The CB are bushed, full floating and the CP are pressed fit. My question here is which is best? I'm sure the piston will determine this if they only come one way or the other. Floating or Pressed. We are shooting for .040" over which is very doable. Now for the pistons, we had established the Seal Power 1062P was one that would be OK. It is notched and about 9-1 comp as I understand. Cost about $230plus. I got inklings of rumors of forged ones available for maybe the $450 range. What would these be ? And where? I didn't try hard enough regarding the Campbell outfit so maybe I should try to find a number for them and get some info there. So, should I try to get the full floating? or the pressed? It seems the full floating would be a better buy as I could assemble that at home myself without a press. Whadda ya think?
