Chrysler immediately stopped production of the Renault Alliance but kept the AMC Eagle wagon in production until the end of December, 1987. About 2,017 1988 AMC Eagle wagons were built. And that marked the end of the AMC car. Chrysler began building the Eagle Premier (it was announced before the takeover as the Renault Premier) and continued building Jeeps. But the only thing that survived the AMC era was the inline six. The assembly plant at Kenosha was demolished after production of the M and L bodies ceased while the plant at Brampton was sold to WalMart. They now use it as their central Canadian warehouse and distribution point. The present "Brampton" plant is the plant originally listed as Bramalea.
