One of my 65 Belv's came with a 361/727 cable shift and ran but I pulled the
motor for rebuilding.
I plan to drop it in my 65 Belv vert with the tranny, driveshaft and rear
when I finish my 64 poly project.
Schumacher's mounts for the engine (and I think tranny) and look at the a
driveshaft for fit/spline/type.
Shift cables should be no problem.
Also look at the throttle linkage, kickdown, and tranny cooling lines.

Tim,
I'm running a 361 auto in my 64 Fury. I would think
this would just be a drop in.
Gary
A question for the group,i just picked up that 64
newport with the 361 would that be a direct bolt in
for my 64 polara i know i will have to go to the
schumacher swap kit but will
the push buttons work by just transfering the cables
to my dash unit?my car has the poly in it now.The
361 runs great
and i cant afford to build the 440 i want right now
so why not drop that 361 in then when i get the 440
i will already have the trans for it.What do you
think? anybody else running a 361?
Thanks Tim
1964 Polara
