I can't let Rich take ALL the credit for the speedo cable snapping. WE were both more concerned about the trans cable shift and overlooked that piece. Besides,it was just two "old" guys having a great time doing what we love as a hobby.

What would be your recommendations re: trans rebuild for my project? Should I have a different valve body installed, ie: Cheetah or ?. I really don't want to be pushing buttons every time. I would like to retain auto shift but be able to do it manually if desired. I want to do the ball and trunion conversion that was talked of earlier too. I intend to use a 3:91 and will get a stall converter of the 2500 range as recommended by Gary P earlier. Is there anything special I should ask of the rebuilder who is knowledgeable of my cable shift 727. (Nebraska Wholesale Transmissions, Lincoln, NE) I will be calling him on Monday to go over the rebuild.

Thanks to George Smith who knows this guy and for finding me a replacement speedo cable for the one I accidentally tore apart during removal of the engine/trans.
