RE: Reproduction Batteries - What The Options Now?

I always look at batteries in restored cars, seeing a beatiful paint job then seeing a Walmart battery is not a great look. I have been getting Napa batteries that are matte black with flat top, remove stickers and battery doesn't stand out as much as a cheap looking battery.  The last one lasted 10 years being on trickle charge. I also have a set of old green caps I might place on top. Remember, I believe 64 was the last year for the Tar Top battery, then they went to the typical look with the caps, yellow, green and red. Antique Auto Battery is reportedly now called Jim's Battery.
Overall Yelp reviews are not kind, though satisfied customers rarely
bother rate a business.

Disguising a different brand battery seems a nice option to save
money.  Here is one place.

I suppose a search of ebay would turn up other places making the
battery disguise kits.

I think the cap color was a quick visual to indicate the amp rating
of the battery.   Yellow 48 amp Green 59 amp

Thanks,
Gary H.
