Re: Do I need to protect these parts?

I just recently did mine and I believe That you are correct they are galvanized. So unless they're showing any real signs of corrosion I would leave them be, On mine I had a spot or two we're a little corrosion showing so I lightly blasted them with walnut shell and put a light coat of silver paint on only where they needed it. I would expect that if you do not have walnut shell blasting Equipment handy, could get away with any type of media just be careful with it and don't Blast anymore than you need to to clean it up.
Good luck on your project

I'm media blasting the old 1964 headlight receptacles and polishing the decorative stainless rims. Should I be spraying the (what appear to me to be galvanized) receptacles with paint or something else?20240614_141517.jpg
