Hi Sherman,
Which carb are you using? Some times the Carter float will bind on the
sides of the float bowl. The Holleys never seem to bother. The big issue
with my 318 Poly is the evaporation of the corn juice they make us buy.
I had to install a Carter rotary electric with a momentary switch to
save my starter from excess cranking. Works great.
