Re: 1963 Dodge Dart for sale & Report!

Glad my GT convert IS a /6, but nicely done with the Hemi & 545 Tranny. I am commenting because I've put 76000mi on my 03 5.7 Hemi Ram Laramie 4x4 with HD Tow pkg ordered from Factory in Jan 03.

The 545 Overdrive Tranny has been a great tranny for towing my 87 24ft Imperial CABIN cruiser 4800# on/+ boat Trailer.

I can I nly imagine the Power & Gear choices in a 63 Dart.

Ove been meaning to share my current Dart challenge: In the spring the Slant Six needed starting fluid to fire, but wouldn't run. Installed new fuel pump, problem solved, till June.

In June Needle valve would stick on startup; requiring 'a  light tap' with small Mallet  to free it. Also found Carb/ Intake Manifold gasket air leak. Fixed with RTV both sides of Gasket.

July was all fine!

In August Would run fine & added / created custom hitch to move my newly built Teardrop Trailer around. Then started having repeated fuel starvation issues while moving teardrop in/out of Quanset Hut for DMV title pics.

Convinced ( like 4 yrs ago on my 61 Lancer 770 Wagon) it is the issue of a clogging fuel pickup screen in the tank. Of course tank still more than 3/4 full & need no more than 1/2 tank to pull fuel sending unit & pickup.  Will suck pump some out. Since gauge inoperable, will replace sending unit with new  pickup unit I bought few years ago when did the  Lancer Tank refurbishment .

However, it's 'In the Cue'.
Presently all 6 of my Jackstands are being used for the 03 RAM Differential Rebuild &  Clutch packs replacement.

My lightweight Aluminum Racing Jack Broke jacking the Differential ( broke where the handle inserts to the jack & part NLA).

So using the old 1970s 80# Floor Jack as a SAFETY Too.

May not get to the fuel sender replacement project till Early 2023 (Florida winter escape trip starts in 3 weeks); but that's the ONLY issue with my 63 Dart GT.

While installing Hitch, and before wiring in the trailer lights connector, I  prepped the trunk floor & spare tire well and repainted the entire Trunk & inner rear fenders. Also super cleaned the custom carpet & Spare tire well carpet insert.

I figure if going to show up at a National or State Park Camground with a Classic Woody Teardrop Trailer, why not bring it with the GT Convert and really:

Not mine, but could be yours. :)

Definitely different. And it no longer is a \6 car either!
