I don't know do dah about /6's, but a friend of mine has one with quote "A marine cam". All I know is that it pulls like stink on the low end for a 6 banger. You might want to explore that option.. Earl Hi guys, While most of you are flexing your mopar muscles with those big ol' engines, I'm starting off on my first restoration project ever! I'm building a very mild 225 slant six and am looking for a replacement camshaft for the stock one in my 62 Lancer. My goal is get one that produces good low end torque and horsepower for this engine. I don't really care about power over 5000 rpms as I don't intend to race it, just to have fun around town in. So I'm looking for some camshaft advice. What do DO want is a nice friendly camshaft with good lobe separation and decent duration so its idle is nice and tame. I have an automatic and do not want to install a stall converter due to costs. That being said, I also am on a tight budget here (I know constraints constraints!) else I risk kissing my marriage goodbye! I had been looking at the mopar perfomance camshaft P4120243 which is supposed to have 244 duration and .436" of lift. I'm not sure this is that much better than stock. It is however a little tamer than the isky or comp cams 252. Can anyone help me out here with experience and recommendations? Thanks!
