Actually, Plymouth was closer to the Ford Thunderbird and not Chevrolet's Corvette.  The Belmont was a larger vehicle than the Corvette and was also heavier than the Corvette.

Wheelbase - Belmont - 114"

     Corvette - 102"

     Thunderbird - 102"

Length - Belmont - 191"

     Corvette - 167"

     Thunderbird - 175"

Weight - Belmont - 3325 lb.

     Corvette - 2705 lb

     Thunderbird - 2980 lb.

Engine -  Belmont - Dodge 241.3 hemi V8

     Corvette - 235.5-cid, in-line 6

      Thunderbird - 292-cid V8
