[power steering pump] I just did the same kind of swap on my '64 Dodge last summer, but with a 413 instead of a 383. I probably did things the hard way, but here it is anyway: The big block federal pump has a longer pulley shaft than the poly's pump, so they don't interchange. The diameter of the shaft is also larger, so you can't reuse the pulley either. So, I ended up buying a big block federal pump on ebay for something line $10 that had a pulley. Went to NAPA and got a new pump (that didn't come with a pulley), swapped the pulley onto the new pump and returned the ebay pump as the core. I don't remember where off the top of my head, but some place on the web had brackets for the pump. I was able to re-use the old high-pressure hose to the steering box. > when i installed the poly radiator the bottom oulet is right inline with the > oil filter, and there is not enough distance between the radiator and the > water pump pulley to install the new clutch fan. arrrrrrrrrr! I ended up getting a remote oil filter kit and an electric fan. -- Tony tony@xxxxxxxxxx '64 Dodge 440 '65 Dart GT
