As I did not get the weld exactly 1/3 of the slot, I ended up with a 11 degree difference, ie; 17 degrees at idle and 28 at 2500 rpm. I could advance it to 32 degrees at 2500, leaving me 21 at idle. I used a bone stock 1966 383 HP as a test bed. The car started easy and ran smooth at a 600 rpm idle. I used 2 mopar light springs #P4529791. I might try using one heavier spring to get a 17/32 degree range, but the thing plain works as is. I used a 1964, 383 2bbl distributor #2444261. If you don't want to get into the welding bit, the lighter springs should help. Don should have some input on that, but the Don's modifications do work! Good luck.
