This bracelet makes a difference. caacYkka/Penn Media ------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi As long as you didn't start the engine etc. I'd just drain the main transmission (not the converter) and refill . That usually takes about 4 to 5 quarts. The question here is are the oils chemically stable with each other ,because considering the full volume of the transmission , the friction characteristic differences between the oils wouldn't be noticed and I don't think any of us here can answer the chemical question so treat it the same as greases (don't mix 'em) ... so its best to err on the safe side....change the fluid. The guy who rebuilt the autmatic transmission on my '64 Sport Fury used type"F" transmission fluid. When I replaced a leaking gasket recently, I refilled it with one quart of transmission fluid that I had on hand - thinking it was the correct type. Later, reading the fine print on the back I discovered what I added was not type "F" and the type I had could be mixed with most types EXCEPT for "F". How bad of a mess did I create -- should I replace all the fluid? Should I not drive her till I do? HELP!
