i dug thru my reciepts, from summit, part number
hed-78030, at the time (1996) these cost 91.95.
a local (st. paul, mn) guy has these same headers
on 440's in his 62,63 plymouths, mine were on a 65.

also if you like chrome, the doug thorley part
# DTE-151 (summit) costs 329.95, this header is the
same exact shape as the headmans, but much heavier
guage and of course chrome.

the thorleys say they fit 62-up b-body and unless hedman
changed something, they still list the same part # listed above.

either one of these can fit very easily, i have always installed
and uninstalled these without moving the engine, though the
passenger side would go on easier if you jacked the engine
up, or drop you're tierod.the driver side you have to cradle the
starter and header together.

as long as we are talking part numbers, griffin makes an aluminum
radiator that bolts right into the 65, it also has the tranny cooler built in.
the # is GRI - 5 - 265HA - DAX. in 2001 i paid 389.00 for this from
summit, my 440 runs about 170, rarely getting hotter no matter how
warm the temp is.

since my car has a 4500 stall, i run a seperate 25.00 cooler also,
running first into the radiator, then into the front cooler, then back
to the trans, the tranny guage only comes of the peg, (140 degrees) if
i run back to back runs at the track, the trans never heats up on
the street.

good luck

65 satellite, low 11's :>

A month ago Tom Hecht posted a msg about the $99 cheapie Hedman Hedders that
he was running on his '65 Satellite and the dyno comparisons vs. TTi &
Hookers. I just read his post & wondered about the $99 Hedman's and what
the part number is. Primarily because I emailed Hedman back in October
about a part number for their headers for my '63 330 with a 440. Below is
their reply.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Thank you for considering Hedman Hedders for your exhaust products. We
regret to say that we do not offer a hedder for your application.

We greatly appreciate your giving Hedman a try. Please try us again for any
of your future exhaust system needs.
Respectfully,
Hedman Hedders

There is a set of Hedman's on the bag right now that has bid up to $230 and
they are part number hed-75340, but are described as being for big block
66-76 B & E-bodies. Is this the part number that we need for our early
B-bodies with B/RB engines? Or is there another (cheaper) part number that
we use?

Thanks a lot.

Scott
