I'm trying to find similar replacement bearings but all the steel
needle-rolller thrust bearings at McMaster-Carr are rated for is 250 degrees
F. The bearings are made of hardened steel, but still only 250F.

hi Dave, hello list:

250 degree anything should work fine in anything but pistons , valves, and
exhaust hardware. Even the cylinders are hotter than that only on the
inside.

250 degree is hot for oil and coolant temps....250 will boil water off the
outside of an engine....my son was able to do this running our slant six van
30 miles with no water pump belt.(August in Phx az)

If any part of a distributor gets over 250 , i would worry about more what
disaster is occurring than the temp rating of the bearings.

just my thoughts
