Derrick,
This is only MY OPINION only. I checked out the pictures and the overwhelming positive is the apparently "rust-free" and very straight body with all the trim intact. Since the '62 Dart is a favorite of mine and it has the Poly 318/pushbutton auto(easily modified for 350HP for even more driveable fun and yet look 100% stock) I would grab it for myself w/o hesitation at the "buy it now" price of $3500; but that is just me.

Points for you to consider in order of importance:
1) As I see it, you will have to like it for YOURSELF as a four-door and not feel like you compromised or have to apologize/legitimize your choice of purchase over a two door or any "other" choice of Mopar. Your decision to purchase will be to please yourself and not "others" who may have 2drs., classy "Hot-rodded" 62-65's...which please them and can and will be admired by anyone.

2) Appears that it will require little additional cash to be thoroughly presentable cosmetic-wise (new carpeting, find steering wheel bezel, detail engine bay...). Being advertised as a reliable driver means that you will have "instant gratification" as you sit behind the wheel and a car that can be driven daily w/o major concerns.

3) At the very least; where can you find a dirt-cheap ($3500) driver car w/this kind of reliability, very low mechanical upkeep costs, hardly any mileage to wear out the suspension, and the prestige/style of a '62 Dart, especially in this condition. Be thankful it is a four door as you would not find a better specimen for twice the cost if you looked for a 2dr. (now review point #1).

If this is was the car for me, I would have done the "buy it now" but since bids have been entered, I would call the guy and offer $3500 and end the auction early; but that is just my personal perspective. In order to receive the car, figure the cost of a plane flight to pick it up the the immeasurable joy of "driving it back home," a vacation/experience in itself. If you deduct $10 very every craning neck and thumbs-up review on your drive home, you will be in the positive cash territory.

Thanks Gary, 62 is my year... My dad had a 62 Polara, one when I was little one..I still remember the car, and have one old photo, I should post it and do a little write up on it. Is the price about right? Or should I hold out for a two door.

Derrick,
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say; if you like the style (and
the '62 is probably my favorite 62-65 Mopar - even a four door looks good to
me!) then the most important consideration is a solid rust-free body.
Everything else is relatively inexpensive and easy to repair/rebuild but
quality paint & bodywork at a fair price is near non-existent to the average
guy.
