[AD removed for archives] ------------------------------------------------------------------- Free CD Player - makes a great stocking stuffer. caacSnNb7yoMza/PermissionData ------------------------------------------------------------------- I just took apart the rear end I bought last weekend so that I can install new gaskets and seals. When I removed the brake backing plates, I found a 0.016" metal shim between each backing plate and the axle housing. Are they shims to properly adjust axle shaft end play, or are they merely gaskets, as noted in some parts manuals? If they are gaskets, where can I order some new ones, because I haven't found a source yet? Second question - Year One shows a round tag stating to use limited slip lube. Mine doesn't have this tag. Does it mount under the retaining nut on the large machined boss above the fill plug on the passenger side? Brian '64 Belvedere Woodstock, IL.
