Someone either modified the latches in the doors or they broke on their own, though I have never heard of them breaking and the probability that they both broke is pretty slim, especially when you consider that the passenger door is used much less than the drivers. Don't know about the dimmer switch placement (mine's a C-body), but is it a big deal that you can't hit the high beams while you're parked?
