Ken, the tap is 1/2" - 14 NPT. I'll be darned if I can find the bit.
That'll bug me for the rest of the day. I did mine a few weeks ago and it turned
out fine after some discussion on thread pitch. That's the proper tap to use.
I did a little cleaning up of the port afterwards using a tootsie roll. There
was a small (1/16") burr that needed cleaning up. Looked pretty good when I
was finished. Mancini is having a special this month - Hemi pan and 1/2"
pick-up for 150.00. It's a 6 quart pan for 70/71 E bodies, but says it will fit
most B Bodies. The Mopar and Milodon pans are 7 qt, but they hit the curbs
easier and are about 60.00 more. Mancini's hemi pan part number is MRE884K.
Don't forget to get a hardened oil pump shaft if you're going to a high volume or
high pressure pump too. Hope it helps. Joe
