The A-518 is the electronically shifted transmission from 318 and 360 trucks
of recent production. It is based on the 727 but usually requires
modifications in the tunnel to fit, since the overdrive makes it bigger. As
long as you have the right flex plate and converter, it will bolt up to any
small block Chrysler, including a poly or even an early hemi (with an
adapter). The pan is the same as the early 727's which is probably why he's
calling it a 727 with overdrive.
