according to my hollanders,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the small block manual shift dand 
the bilg block auto both use a 56 inch driveshaft, but they have different part 
numbers, so I am assuming that you will have to keep the drive shaft with the 
tranny that it belongs with.   It does not list the difference between them 
but does state that they are the same length from center of pin to center of eye
