The guy I bought my Polara from yesterday acted like i should be
overjoyed because the 440 block in it came from a motorhome, he said
they were thicker webbed or thicker in some way. Any truth to this?
   The ID pad reads:
     9T 440 E
       8 31 
    This seems strange because i thought the first number (9) indicates
    year and i thought they discontinued the 440 in 1978. What gives??
    I know this is a late year  for  all the thin wall/ thick wall talk
    but as the block has its original bore still i wasnt too worried
    about thickness. Only has 80,000 original miles on it. figure its
    got  at least one more more boring left in it
